PSA from the Dentist’s Daughter
I cannot begin to tell you how many great ideas my DAD has had to turn his life in different directions. I can tell that they didn’t all work. But his attitude and faith drove him forward and I am trying to learn from his excitement for life. I would say jump in with optimism. It is exhilarating and works to spin so many other things in a good direction. Don’t be afraid because sometimes life has handed you lemons. Or you have squeezed lemons all over yourself. Have trust in you and know that every effort should be commended and lauded. Whether you fail or not, success is in the doing, not the not doing. Just sitting on the sidelines preparing for that special day will get you nowhere. Stop getting ready to get ready as one of my mentors has stated. She alluded to the fact that it is like planning to open a restaurant….getting a menu together, figuring out the ambiance, looking for the right chef, but never opening the door. I compare it to deciding to get pregnant. You can wait till you have the perfect job, house in the right neighborhood, everything child proofed, bills paid up, but in the end, there is never a good time. Just do it. Just take control of your life and dive into to the chaos. And don’t forget to pat yourself on the back. And when you can’t, fiddle dee dee, tomorrow is another day right. Wake up in the morning and start again. Be ALL In for you. Then you will have the energy and desire to help others.
