Door number three
I remember growing up in the 70’s and 80’s and loved it. One of my favorite memories was watching tv with my family on my downstairs porch. Tv was pretty new back then. There were only 5 channels, that’s it. If you wanted to watch a show you had to be present. Imagine that. You had to be present. My favorites were Charlie’s Angels and Batman. I also loved watching the Rookies with my dad.
My favorite episode of Batman was called the Purr-fect Crime. Catwoman starts a series of thefts that cause Commissioner Gordon to summon Batman and Robin. The Dynamic Duo eventually find Catwoman’s lair. But Robin is kidnapped by Catwoman and then Batman is given a choice between two doors. If he picks the right door, he’ll find Catwoman. If he picks the wrong one, he’ll face certain doom.
I’ll never forget this cliff hanger. I had to wait until the next week to see if he picked door number one or door number two. But in real life I would urge everybody to choose door number three. Limiting your life to the two doors that are offered to you is suppressive. Door number three is that dream, that goal, that out that you need. Brainstorm and always look for door number three.
